Comfortable and efficient position, we greatly enjoyed staying here.
Very very good stay, we were there for 1 day. The staff was especially helpful and very amiable, everything was nice.

Every visit to La Rochelle we like to stay here. The location is comfortable and efficient as it's just off beach, shops and old town, Vieux Port and centre of La Rochelle. The place where you can eat not too far away from the hotel is Le Cabanon des Pecheurs.

The reception staff were really cute and helpful.
I found the cleanliness of the room to be appalling, particularly the dirty carpet and unclean shower tiles that clearly needed maintenance. The noise from nearby ambulances made it difficult to relax, and the mattress was uncomfortable. I was disappointed to discover that there was a parking fee despite there being a spacious car park.

friendliness at the reception and fact that the kitchen had a (small) fridge (something that is not usual in other cheaper French hotels), as well as an easy connection to the historical centre on foot (not even ten minutes) and also to the emergency rooms of a large hospital (which unfortunately we needed but in which we were well attended). Despite being under construction, we were very lucky to be able to park in the street behind the hotel, even in the area that is not paid for, it must not be easy to park for free there under normal circumstances.
In addition to the limited number of sockets available, we are missing some more kitchenware and complimentary teas/coffees and being allowed to leave at 12:00 instead of 11:00, latter seems to be a common problem throughout France. Add to that the fact that there is no lift (even though ours was a first floor one), all this becomes unacceptable in hotels for which you pay 80 euros a night from Sunday to Monday.

We were two families staying in 2 6 bed apartments. Both apartments were shabby and neglected looking. The dining room curtain was ripped nearly halfway accross. The bathrooms in both apartments were a disgrace. Both shower cubicles had black mould along the walls from the shower tray up to about a foot high. The balcony in one apartment was completely covered in cigarette ash and hadnt been swept or cleaned. Not terribly nice for a group of Irish teenagers who were sailing in a world competition. Breakfast was poor and a complete rip-off at 9 euro a head. Only good thing to say was that the bed linen and towels were clean.

OK for a night but would not reccommend for longer. Stayed in the studio room and bed was very uncomfortable.

The bed!!! The bed was probably one of the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in.It was obviously a sofa bed made up, but each room we saw had the sofa bed out.Since there was enough room in the apartment, why not put a proper double bed there.

I enjoyed my stay at La Rochelle. The APPART CITY HOTEL was quite fine - it was quite close to the town and the accomodation was reasonably priced, self contained and quite well equipped. However, I asked for a quiet room and was assigned a room next to 2 different entrances - one of the doors was being opened every couple of minutes and the constant banging was very hard on the nerves - also I was on the ground floor and had no real privacy as people were constantly passing by my window so I had to keep it shut and my room became very over heated.. On the wholw the appartment was quite adequate and I wuold consider using the services of APPART CITY HOTEL again
